Lenox House
Our semi-retired Clients, both golf enthusiasts, purchased a home in Lenox MA, in Berkshire County. When the house was under construction, NMA was asked to design the interiors and exterior landscaping. Our goal was to make this environment feel like a home while creating the comfort and accessibility needed as the Clients get older.
The home, a three-bedroom split level, has a master suite, home office, second bedroom and bath with an open concept kitchen dining and a formal living area that opens onto a patio on the main floor. The lower level holds a large family entertainment room, an exercise space, a third bedroom and a bath.
NMA designed a custom fireplace in the living area framed with a green Crow’s Feet Schist which is local to MA. The fireplace surround spans the entire height of the wall and anchors the space. Custom millwork shelving units sit adjacent to the fireplace. The dining area seamlessly blends elegance and comfort with a walnut dining table by Stillmade paired with DWR’s upholstered dining chairs. A statement chandelier from Roll and Hills in bronze sits proudly above creating an inviting atmosphere.
The kitchen provides a calm and simple backdrop to the main living space. White custom designed millwork cabinets frame one wall from floor to ceiling and provide optimal storage. A slab of extra white polished onyx is used as a backsplash further reinforcing the sense of calmness. The kitchen island allows for ease of use and functionality in the space and includes a cozy counter seating area framing views of the rear yard.
In the master bedroom suite cool and neutral tones were incorporated to evoke a calm and relaxing environment. The master bath includes a standing shower and a jacuzzi tub for maximum relaxation and the suite is completed with a generous walk in closet.
The lower-level family room is a great space to watch television, play games and spend quality time with family. Since the Clients are golf enthusiasts, a putting green was installed to provide them with a space to perfect their golf swing. A gym area allows at home workouts. Two large doors open onto a stone patio in the rear yard where the Client can have views of the manicured gardens and nature.
